Week ending 22/05/06 goldenloch
When the wind blows from the North East at the Goldenloch the fish just lie low, this probably happens in many other waters, but this past week we have had three days when the wind changed right round and caused anglers havoc, Friday morning was great as anglers arrived to see rising fish in all areas, but by lunch time the temperature had dropped 4* due to the wind changing direction and the only fish being caught were on lures, however by 5pm it had all changed again and the fish just came back up to the surface being met by torrential rain, Iain Wallace (woof) and John Reid, both Glenrothes had a great time albeit a little bit wet, they did not want to stop fishing as their phones just kept on ringing summoning them home, another pair having an equally as good a time was B Pitcairn and Paul Camaseal from Halbeath who after getting a soaking, went on to have their best days fishing for a long time. Saturday morning was equally as good but then by lunch time the cold North wind started again and made the fishing really hard again giving Rudy Kopchex, Kilmany his first ever blank, by 5pm the wind had dropped leaving a flat calm the evening anglers then had a good night’s sport, Iain Clark, Newburgh aged 16 caught and landed a rainbow of 6.5lbs using a Diawl Bach, another lad Craig Henderson, Glenrothes holding a fishing rod for his very first time caught and landed a 4lb rainbow using a ace of spades, under the watchful eye of his mentor Billy Eaughin, Glenrothes.
