Goldenloch
The past week has been a really bitter biting week, I am well impressed by rugged tough guys that turned up to fish, these last four days, starting last week as some sort of reward and also so as they weren’t obliged to stay the full time they would have paid for, I did my own “Black Friday”, Discount days, and gave “free” fishing for four days, my reason was, I just want people to enjoy there wee bit of me time, for the guys that went fishing they have virtually all said the same thing, in that it completely took the edge of their visit, and that they felt much more relaxed, two pals on Sunday, even spent a couple of hours together just helping each other, in sorting out different casts techniques, jokingly one said that in 20+ years fishing he never enjoyed a day so much, like he did today, So how it been fishing, well unlike other places where the fish are not new stock, mine are well and truly settled, deep down, they are well naturalised, they have no intention in coming up to look for insects, why, cause there are none, fish are being caught using bloodworms and black / green Fritz lures, yellow dancers, and one lad on Thursday did well using a orange blob with diawl bachs under it, it is so cold, its not pleasant, out in a boat when the wind is howling with flurries of snow, So its down to sitting by the fire for some, or recovering from recent operations, I do hope that things are going well for some of my guys, there will be plenty of good quality fighting fish soon, for them to catch in the spring, I will endeavour to just keep things as they are, stock fish are of an average weight of a kilo, I only ever once put in smaller fish of 0.50 kg, and that was because I thought there was a huge hot spell coming, like other fishery owners it is really irritating and annoying when anglers start bad mouthing information, which affects business honestly, it’s a poor show, we don’t stock small fish, nor huge fish, our stocking spec is 1 kilo and has been for the last 10 years, if there is bigger fish in the loch then they have grown on, however there is only one grade of fish from our suppliers and that it is neither A, B or C, but be assured it is the best quality they can supply and no other loch can buy better.
