Goldenloch
Its supposedly should be winter fishing now, but strangely enough its gone and become a lot milder, last weekend saw a huge temperature drop on Saturday morning, but since then the outside air temperature has climbed steadily nearly every day, we have been really fortunate this year and have missed a lot of the cold windy weather which seems to have hit the south of Fife, its just the way the wind has been blowing, so what has this effect had on the fishing well, the fish are back up on the surface, or just under, are actively feeding on something that is very small, in fact it would seem that it is minute, is closer to the sides, as opposed to being out in the mid regions, Carpet Bob from Newburgh a regular and a proper old fashioned angler, has his boxes of traditional flies usually catches a few but only ever takes one for the pot, wasn’t to happy with his new rod and phoned home getting his old rod delivered up, he then went on to have what he described as his best days fishing ever, what he enjoyed was the fact that the fish were rising all around him, feeding, he was casting over them, they then followed and attacked his flies, most were interested in the very small black flies, great fun and hard fighting, yesterday three young lads fishing out in the middle of the loch without much luck, they were instructed by myself to go to a certain spot and fish with small white lures, within an hour one had 3 one 2 and one 1, Martin Nicol, Perth back after some knee surgery was on his favourite spot and had 2 fish quite quickly again on dry flies, to be honest this week has seen loads caught on dries and its got to be down to the warmer weather, however its been a week that started poor and just got a lot better Eddie Henderson, Perth last Monday had loads of fish on but failed to lad any and that was the same on Tuesday with a few anglers managing to land their catches and a few just losing the fish, however its great fun and with fish showing in all areas nobody is disappointed.
