Goldenloch
Nice to see a breeze, just been a wee bit to much rain though, water level this year has never really varied much. The loch, it’s just been full all of the time, we have if I was being honest kind of been hoping for an Indian summer, that is a long hot dry spell, it may come yet but time is passing quicker than we would have liked, the water is getting back to normal, clarity is nearly perfect and the weed is all but gone, only some small areas are causing a nuisance not for lures but more like the attached fish diving into the weeds, and the catch going from 1 kilo to 10, fishing is good just now in that the fish are active in all areas, the bank fishing is just equally as good as boat, top anglers this week, D Robertson, 6 on a black Hares Ear, Pete Haynes 10 on suspender buzzers, Harold Gavin 11 on Daddies, B Stewart and W Robertson combined total 15, Daniel Peach with his father Trevor, a combined total, 8 all on Hares Ear, Sandy Drummond and J Bashford “best day ever” was the comment in the book, Ronnie Forsyth minus Lewis, 5 all on sedges so as you can see the fishing is still pretty much traditional flies, its all just working well, both from the boat or the bank, big up from all the anglers, re the new jetties, the extra width and the solidness is a big plus however the seats are a bigger plus, they have been in place now for nearly 5 weeks and every angler using them have nothing but praise especially for the seating and for some anglers it is a shelf, so it’s a big up for Aaron and Greg that installed them, we just have to see how they survive the winter storms and if they last as long as the last ones it is a great investment. Sean Burger fishing with Darin Taylor having another great day’s entertainment had several fish but Darins biggest catch was himself, much to Sean’s amusement, re the fly in the lip Picture
