Goldenloch
Report /Blog starts last Sunday / Monday, when we had a cold wind East / North / East / West, changing, the fish were just put down, they really do not like change are much happier in calm settled conditions, but fish were being caught, regularly, not just on the known spots but all over the loch, basically as we seem to have this massive over supply of shrimp, beetles and snails etc, there is ample food down under but as the colder weather increases the weed that is still under the surface starts to decay, falling to the floor and this particular food supply will end, However, Monday saw Brian Imrie, Kinglassie, having his Carlsberg day, with 12 fish all on dries, Brian is a good recreational angler, he really enjoys his fishing and tries hard to visit most fisheries, his advice and thoughts are always welcome, as is Matt Donaldson Glenrothes, a true sportsman, Matt who always gave in the past flies supporting the young new anglers, equally his angling skills are superb as he enjoys some pastime fishing, J Bashford, 6 all on Diawl Bachs, Tuesday saw Peter Haynes, Kirkcaldy 15 on CDC & Hares Ears, Allan Hyndman, Muirhead, 16 on Diawl Bachs/Hoppers/Bloodworms, Wednesday saw a complete change in wind direction causing a subsequent change in the fishing, it became a day of twos, Alan Brown 2, Leslie Mitchell, Dunfermline 2, Les Milne 2, John Fernie 2, Thursday kind of back to normal Sandy Drummond Kingskettle 11, all returned and J Bashford 11 all returned, Friday Colin McKenzie 8, returned, Bob Ratchie 10 returned, Stewart Milne, Glenrothes 11 returned, Saturday was wet, raining, wasn’t a great day weather wise, Little Jim had 5 and brothers William and John Henderson had 7 each, Sunday was really a much better day weatherise and with 14 anglers out, the average catch was a staggering 8 each, not bad considering there was little sun, nor heat on the water and the fish were more into swamping the flies rather than taking them off the surface but in all a great days recreation, it would be really bad of me not to mention that Ian Wallace Kinglassie, and Derry, Kirkcaldy, had again, another days amazing fishing, two lads having a laugh and just enjoying being in a boat, proper fun fishing everything put back, they covered every corner of the loch and caught fish in all areas, happy chappies.
