Goldenloch
Aug-21st-Week-35-2017
Pretty much looks like to-day Autumn has started to-day, we have a very heavy fog over the whole area, there has also been a huge temperature drop in the atmosphere, it is mid August, so I suppose its more or less the right time, soon we will see the trees start to turn with lots of reds and yellow leaves falling, it also brings about massive amount of feeding for the fish, under the trees it becomes a feeding frenzy for trout to get all the spiders and small insects that live in the trees, the cold makes them very docile and inactive, they just fall into the water, the algae has also had a complete knock back, not that it was that bad anyway but I see today it is completely shrivelled up, a good strong wind at the Goldenloch is what we need, Saturdays’ wind was just a breeze that only gusted over the loch, however the fishing was ace, since last week everyone has been catching fish, in fact its way to easy, its giving false signals to a lot of guys that think this is normal, people are catching on more or less any type of flies but that will change soon, Barry Lamb having a very early morning start had 11 fish by 8 am all returned all returned he also stated that he lost twice as much and just had a brilliant morning, Carpet Bob keeping 4 had an ace mornings fishing catching on a white tailed fly, S Gunn, Methil, a lot of fish on suspender buzzers all returned, Huff and Puff returning after a short medical break had probably their best nights fishing ever, which is so good, as they are a great pair, with a massive sense of humour, they had that night the benefit of a rare event these last few weeks, a proper fish rise, with hatching buzzers all around them, they were in the furthest corner of the loch in an area untouched all summer, so with the weed behind them and flies everywhere, they caught an untold amount of fish, now what was so special was they were catching fish that were chasing and jumping at flies, they were right in the middle of this frenzy and loving it, doing the job was their own flies they were just so happy and pleased on their departure, Brian Stewart Dundee with Willie Robertson was another to have a great night 16 fish between them all returned, But the chap who enjoyed his fishing the best this last week has to be Peter Haynes, Kirkcaldy, Peter just was catching fish, he was using loads of different flies and fishing all over the loch, stopping to give advice to others a proper gent and a credit to the angling fraternity so all in all its been a cracking weeks fishing
