Goldenloch
May-29TH –Week 22- 2017
So this is the time when its hard to write a genuine report, one that best reflects what’s happening, we normally don’t like broadcasting that we have just stocked, I feel that sometimes it can cause a bit of anger especially from myself, when you get guys that turn up and just pound the stocked fish, and its always going to happen anyways, but loads of fisheries do it, that’s why they want to encourage those stockie basher guys, but this week saw a rather strange set of events which made me laugh a wee bit, yes the fishing was outstanding from Tuesday onwards with Kaptain Kemp, Kirkcaldy, getting a huge amount of fish, 6, I believe 3 returned, Eddie Henderson, Perth 6 all returned, Sandy Drummond, Kingskettle, 12 all returned Stewart Milne ,Glenrothes 12+ all returned, Huff and Puff having a complete stormer of a day, are you sure Balado is not missing you guys, now all this happened before the stocking, in great weather and on basically light breezes, so from then on with new fish added things you would have thought would be amazing but the air pressure just dropped and went right down on my weather station, Jimmy Arrnot and his son arrived from Kirkcaldy, Jimmy is an experienced angler and neither saw or touched a fish, with others arriving and noticing the same, it was this that prompted me to come up to the office to look at the weather station, also that night with several lads who had been the night before and having had a great night, came back and never touched a fish, till late on, its all over now and thank goodness things are settled again, but it just goes to show how much the weather can influence a nights fishing, interesting was comment from two lads that on arrival were told on Saturday night that the fishing was hard because of the low air pressure, they said that they couldn’t believe that this would cause the fishing to be tricky as they always caught at least 10 each at their local water, so they went on and caught 1 each, Dave Wilson, Kingskettle this morning had 6, Lewis Forsyth back after a wee break out fished his dad, so a weekend which should have been amazing ended up being pretty average but the good thing is that everyone coming here enjoyed their day, proper fishing, loads caught on dry flies and surface flies, just exactly what it should be, my next concern is that with all the sunshine the water is getting a wee bit green, bring on the rain.
