Week ending 27/02/06 goldenloch
Conditions at the Goldenloch are still very cold, however the hardy anglers are catching loads of fish, best catches are around the edges and at the furthest end of the loch where the fish seem to be in the rushes and just at the north bay, when the wind as been blowing from the east some lads just fish from the boat jetty and have done very well John Hatton, Kirkcaldy had 9 in a relatively short space of time, finishing he commented that the sport was great but the cold bitter, Mr Miekle, Pitlessie fishing from the middle jetty had 5, with one a brownie, all put back, great day and all the fish were well over 2lbs, Mr A Gibson Bridge of Earn had 3 for 6lbs using a small black nymph and Mr D Baird Kettle had 4 again with a brownie returned, he was using a yellow dancer, Getting back into the swing of things was Jim McCarthy, Leven, who was using a cats whisker caught 6 returning 4, and keeping 2 for 5lbs, Jim who is a very early morning angler said that first thing the loch was flat calm and fish could be seen all around the edges, The Boys from Spittalfield have just about beaten their previous best record of 12 fish caught for 36lbs this during last summer, this time it was a freezing cold February day and they had 12 for 35.5lbs commenting about there tactics, the lads have no idea about their skills only that age and experience have a lot to do with it.
