{"id":927,"date":"2017-01-02T06:39:29","date_gmt":"2017-01-02T06:39:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/goldenloch.co.uk\/?p=927"},"modified":"2017-01-02T06:39:29","modified_gmt":"2017-01-02T06:39:29","slug":"january-02nd-week-01-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/goldenloch.co.uk\/index.php\/2017\/01\/02\/january-02nd-week-01-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"January-02nd-Week-01-2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Goldenloch<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Firstly and its really important, it is a <strong><u>huge thank you<\/u><\/strong> from us, to everyone that visited us last year, we really appreciate your continued support, it encourages us to keep making significant investment, it made a pretty special year, Its good to look back on results, if you are interested in facts, its easy to keep records, I can tell you is that in the last 12 months we stocked 2750 fish, which is 220 more than the previous year, with a total weight of 3275 kilos, that is an average fish size of 1.19 kilo or 2.6 lbs \/ fish, stocked, I have to admit that I was surprised by that and had to do the calculations again, what would be really good would be if the record book of catches was more accurately filled up, however that\u2019s never going to happen, so the catch side would approx be, and this is a guesstimate that we had removed approx 2000 fish ( includes wastage), the visitor number approx 3600, C and R accounting for approx 70%\u00a0 of fishing, what I have also managed to clean from the book is that the numbers of anglers was down on the previous year, which we knew anyway, mostly attributed to the rotten weather, both in the spring which started of with a blistering hot March then a long wet windy spell, and a very wet and windy Autumn,\u00a0 but also the fact that there are a few more stock fisheries about, but on the whole its been a pretty good year, the water quality this year has been superb with great clarity and masses of feeding for the fish, resulting in probably the best quality fighting fish we have ever had, Westmill our supplier has done us proud in supplying us with great fish, however its fundamentally important to continue their health and growth, for that they need plenty good feeding, its really easy to catch stockies, but its not easy to catch fish that are on abundant natural feeding, \u00a0we are now in the 10<sup>th<\/sup> year of no chemical weed control, other than roundup on the edges, the lochs fly hatches have been superb with great and very varied quantities of natural flies and buzzers, Even this past week which has seen outside air temps as high as 11 degrees and night temps of 1,5 &gt;
