{"id":875,"date":"2016-11-07T09:26:36","date_gmt":"2016-11-07T09:26:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/goldenloch.co.uk\/?p=875"},"modified":"2016-11-07T09:26:36","modified_gmt":"2016-11-07T09:26:36","slug":"not-that-warm-just-getting-chilly","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/goldenloch.co.uk\/index.php\/2016\/11\/07\/not-that-warm-just-getting-chilly\/","title":{"rendered":"noT tHaT WarM jUst geTting ChillY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Goldenloch<\/p>\n<p>November-07th \u2013Week 45-2016<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Smart, casual anglers will have stayed at home beside a cosy fire these last two or three days, even today Monday 07<sup>th<\/sup> its is still very cold, 3.4 degrees at 8.30am, it was 2 degrees, when the bin lorry arrived, only the complete fishing enthusiasts would be the ones to venture out and spent time sitting in a boat on a loch, with the wind constantly on their back, yet some do and to be honest that\u2019s what sport anglers do, mind you its much more cosy sitting in a boat than padding about on the bank or on a jetty, for a start your line doesn\u2019t get all mucky, The Captain was here on Thursday last week, but alas his fortunes waned a wee bit, with everyone else that was fishing that day getting catches around the 6 or 7, Captain Kemp struggled, he did however have a few on but alas his eagerness was getting the better of him, better luck next time your Lordship, recently on Fb one of my older regulars put up a post about fishing in 1992 and from his really good records he had the wind conditions and size of the fish, now back then really good fish were 1 \u00bd lbs to 1 \u00be lbs and catching 3 or 4 was a fantastic days sport, a day to be really proud off, a day to remember, so it got me going into the records department, a glass cabinet in my office, and being honest it makes fascinating reading, so I will share some of this with those that are interested by putting one or two of the books down in the lodge for all to see, last week was not that bad with several lads doing really well, Brian Stewart and Willie Robertson both Dundee had about 10 or more between them as did Graham Polton, Perth, who caught a very large, highly coloured, well formed 5lb ish brown trout, which he never removed from the water, but he had it up close to the boat and could see quite clearly that it was a very big fish, there have been a few large fish caught recently, and I can genuinely say that these fish are much older and well grown, all on natural feeding, are not introduced pellet fish, any fish caught here at the Goldenloch, that are over a kilo have grown naturally, as our supplier of long standing, Westmill, only provide us with top quality standard sized trout of a kilo (2.2lbs) which is by any accounts is a good sized fish.<\/p>\n<p>Want to enjoy a good days fishing then visit us @ the Goldenloch, fly fishing a field sport, <a href=\"mailto:john@goldenloch.co.uk\">john@goldenloch.co.uk<\/a> \u00a0or visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goldenloch.co.uk\/\">www.goldenloch.co.uk<\/a> \u00a0or our fb goldenlochfishing<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Goldenloch November-07th \u2013Week 45-2016 &nbsp;
