Another crappy week weather wise, but it was interspersed by a couple of nice days, Last Tuesday was horrendous we were working on installing a new overflow \/ flood preventer, plus a bio security screens and the wind was just ridiculous, so mush so that the waves or spray from the loch was splashing over us at some 10 metres from the edge, but the next day, Wednesday was absolutely fine with just a wee breeze blowing from the west, we seem to have forgotten those days back in April when the wind continually blew from the East, interestingly the water temperature in the loch has dropped by 4 degrees in seven days which is pretty amazing and I don\u2019t think I have ever seen such a quick drop in temperature, the fish are much more active and are moving in all areas, but the absolute stunning thing to be seen is in the evening and early morning, for example this morning Monday 03rd October there was an amazing sunrise with a very yellow tinted sky, on looking down at the loch as the daylight came in there were hundreds of ringlets of feeding fish on the perfectly calm still water as the sky brightened the feeding fish slowly ceased this due to the fact that they ( The Fish) know they are exposed to predators in the form of birds as there is no weed cover for them to hide in, Some lads are doing great, locals especially, with the term \u201cTechnical Fishing\u201d being used, which was a knew one on me, but seemingly it needs the angler to understand the right fly set up, correct leader and line but most importantly the knowledge on how to make it all work, In other words, if you know how to fly fish you\u2019ll catch fish, but if you just turn up and chuck in a lure you\u2019ve got no chance, seriously though whether your good average or poor the most important element is that you have a good day and that\u2019s what I hope you get.<\/p>\n
