{"id":645,"date":"2015-07-07T10:00:47","date_gmt":"2015-07-07T10:00:47","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2015-07-07T10:00:47","modified_gmt":"2015-07-07T10:00:47","slug":"john","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/goldenloch.co.uk\/index.php\/2015\/07\/07\/john\/","title":{"rendered":"Fly fishing is for fun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Goldenloch july-07th\u2013week 24-2015<\/p>\n<p>Goldenloch<br \/>\nJuly-07th\u2013Week 24-2015<br \/>\nFly Fishing is a sport that is for ALL to enjoy and keeping it simple is good for everyone\u2019s sake, makes for stress free fishing, this last week or so has seen some weird and unusual things happen at our wee fishery, we try very hard to allow people the freedom of coming to enjoy their days sport, no one stands and watches you fish, nor interferes with your time, it is important for us that we get your return business, but we do also understand that it is really good for anglers to visit other fisheries, not only for their good fishing, but it is a way to meet others, who equally enjoy the sport, but there are a few rules and some manners, a sort of unwritten bible, for a start, each angler is responsible for their OWN catch, two guys paying to kill 2 fish each does not allow one angler to catch and kill 4 fish, if one of the anglers is not that good then that\u2019s his tough luck, he has to get better at catching fish, KILLING fish and leaving or binning them, nowadays this is not really acceptable, only last week publically in front of many others, an angler handed in a couple of 3 lb trout, stating that he only killed them as he had paid for a 2 fish kill ticket, HOGGING a hot spot, if a couple of lads or one, has had a few hours catching many fish at one spot, then we would expect them to allow others to enjoy catching a few fish as well, by moving and allow the others into that spot, BARGING in, it is equally annoying when, anglers get too close to people on the banks or on other boats, at the Goldenloch, bank fishing has priority over boats, TRAWLING this really is not as bad now, as it used to be, but it does happen, its not just a rod or two hanging out the back of a boat, while the person moves, but more often it is an operator \/ angler, using an electric outboard to conveniently move back and forward or across the water, whilst the angler  or his buddy fishes, it is particularly annoying for others, it may be permitted at bigger waters, but it is not allowed here, SELFIES lifting a fish out the water to take a picture and then returning it to the water, is definitely not allowed here, it may be allowed on other waters, but Catch and Release here at the Goldenloch is a privilege, and will be stopped given certain situations, i.e. really hot weather, or any stress situation for the fish, we like other fisheries pride ourselves in the fish quality we have, we have recently allowed greater no\u2019s of fish to be caught on C&#038; R than we would normally allow, but this is now the trend amongst fife fisheries, if C&#038;R is being done then fish must not be removed from the water, knotless nets and debarred hooks must be used, I really cant imagine anyone disagreeing with any of the above statements, however feel free to comment, I would welcome opinions, however it was always the remit here at the Goldenloch that fishing is for fun and pleasure its only when some person doesn\u2019t comply that it all goes wrong, only this week an angler was caught with way more fish than he should have taken, his defence was that other fisheries allow greater numbers of fish to be caught and killed, yet they were hidden in his bag and his buddy said that 3 were his, 3 that he had paid to kill, OK but he still had 9 in the bag, basically its stealing or poaching whatever so these guys are out to spoil everybody\u2019s fishing for what is basically a few fish.
