Another week of foul weather and we can definitely say that the water level in the loch is higher than it\u2019s ever been before, this last week I have had a few emails to say that I should stop downing the fishing here at the Goldenloch because of the green water algae but I don\u2019t think I have been, anglers are still catching fish, and are still enjoying there days sport, its just that people aren\u2019t seeing the fish as the water is green, one night last week when it wasn\u2019t raining I was down at the loch with an angler and there were fish moving everywhere swirling noses up and bolting, they just were feeding and it was pleasing to see that they seem to have no problem finding the flies, this year we have had over 200 complete beginners come and try there hand at fishing for the first time and a large proportion of them intend to take up the sport as a leisure activity, we would and should be having a great time just now if it wasn\u2019t for the green water and the weather, another two samples of water are away this time to a lab down south the specialises in algal blooms, the verdict I am predicting is more or less the same as the rest is that we need for the rain to stop flushing in the fertiliser from the fields and the sun to come out and make the algae bloom and then burn out, what else can I say we are not busy but there are loads of fish its just that people arnt getting the 6 or 7 that they usually get. <\/p>\n
