Another major milestone in the Calendar, 01st<\/sup> March, it means that winter is officially over, for the fishery a significant change in what should be happening, yesterday I spent a few hours just going round the loch looking for signs of life, the green shoots of the plants that were introduced two years ago have done well and are showing signs that soon they will be popping through the surface in the emergent area, the pickerel weed and Jungles also in the Littoral {margins} the reeds are starting growth as well as the eel grass which is excellent for small flying insects the wildlife area at the far end is well progressed with the new bulrush shoots showing also the Thatcher\u00a0 reeds are stronger than ever, in the water there are literally 100s of thousand of small minnows and what could be brown trout alevins, we had them last year so I would imagine more this year, TODAY a Friday 01st<\/sup> March for a few hours I have divers here, basically as some boat anglers will know there is something under the water that snags the anchors and there have been a few times lads have been stuck to the bottom, I am hoping this will be removed today also I am really hoping to get retrieved a few anchors that have been lost over the years.<\/p>\n

The fishing can only be best described as amazing just now in the last few days catches are outstanding even in the cold snaps interestingly the traditional flies are doing really well, Peter Ross, Invictas, Red Buzzers, as well as Montana, Cormorants and Black Tadpoles, with they best quality fish being stocked and a large carryover of last year and previous seasons some amazing catches to be had, as usual we do not allow snakes, chewing gum, squiggles\u2019 wotsits, as we deem those to be unrepresentative flies For Fly Fishing, there are plenty places that these can be used just not at \u201cThe Goldenloch\u201d\u00a0 our water is crystal clear the temperature is rising and the O2 level is at high<\/p>\n

As a Boat and Bank Fishery, there is no limitation on what you the client can do, it doesn\u2019t have to be 100% boat nor 100% bank, you can mix and match, its entirely your decision, we have equipment for and flies that can be used.<\/p>\n
